St. George’s recently sponsored a Godly Play Workshop for the community—and is looking forward to adding this Montessori based program to Sunday School—in our new Sunday School room. This fall we will be celebrating St. Francis Day, St. Michael’s Day, and a visit from the Bishop.
Youth Group for grades 6-12 is meeting every Monday from 5:30-7 pm at the Red Dragon for dinner, a time of fellowship, party games, singing contemporary Christian Songs—and a message from leaders Matt and Kristel Rush. Both Matt and Kristel work at Ilanka Clinic—Matt as a counselor and Kristel as a doctor. They love this time to share their faith and encourage our young people. Youth Group helps with various service projects throughout the year—and hopes to take a mission trip in the near future.
St. George’s is blessed with two National historic buildings—the church built in 1918 and the Red Dragon, our parish hall and “community living room” which was built in 1908. The buildings are set in a beautiful wooded area on the top of a hill. For the past two years, we have been fundraising for the Red Dragon foundation and roof—and will beginning the Church roof project soon.
