Welcome to St. George’s!

Join us in bringing love, joy, and peace to Cordova and the world—as we reach out in love and with our prayers to those who need our help here and in other countries.

We gather at 10:30 am on Sundays. All are welcome to join us in services, usually using the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer.

For some members of our congregation, St. George’s is their first experience in the Christian tradition, while others come from Lutheran, Presbyterian, Quaker, or Catholic backgrounds.

Music—teaching kids and adults to play the guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, bass, and ukulele—is one of our main ministries.

It’s a wonderful way to sing God into our hearts and minds!  Our priest, the Rev. Belle Mickelson, travels about one-third of her time to Alaskan villages leading school music camps and helping churches with a program called Dancing with the Spirit www.dancingwiththespirit.org.  In honor of her work, she was recognized as one of six national winners of a $25,000 Purpose Prize for those over 60 who give back to their community.   When Belle is gone, members of the congregation lead church services.

Church musicians (and we always need more!)  play guitars, fiddle, and sometimes piano as we sing songs from the St. George’s Songbook.

Call the Rev. Belle Mickelson, (907) 424-5143, or email her (bellemickelson AT gmail.com) to receive the weekly service and music documents.
